Crowns - CEREC
Restore teeth to their original shape and strength
If you have badly decayed or fractured teeth, crowns can restore your teeth to their original shape and size. A crown is a mold made of gold or tooth-colored porcelain that is cemented to your tooth. First, a Parker Smiles dentist will remove decay and prepare the surface of your tooth. Then, an accurate impression of your tooth is sent to a laboratory that will create the crown. Once the crown is ready, your dentist will cement it to your tooth to create a highly durable, strong, protective surface.
Crowns are highly durable, and an excellent way to restore your smile. After some time, they will eventually need to be re-cemented or replaced from normal wear and tear.
CEREC – Crowns in one visit!

Traditional crowns will take at least two or three visits to the dentist to be applied properly. With CEREC, a Parker Smiles dentist can provide a ceramic dental restoration in only one office visit. This means fewer injections, less drilling, and less time needed to apply the crown.
How does CEREC work?
CEREC works just like applying a traditional crown, but in far less time. Your Parker Smiles dentist will determine the appropriate treatment, whether it’s a simple filling or a full crown. Next, an optical impression of your tooth is prepared with a non-toxic, tasteless powder. Then the CEREC machine takes over and creates a 3D virtual model of your tooth. Your Parker Smiles dentist will use their expertise to create the crown digitally, where it will be then sent to a milling machine that forms your crown from a ceramic block that matches your tooth shade.

In about 10-20 minutes, your all-ceramic, tooth-colored restoration is finished and ready to be bonded in place. The restoration is polished and bonded to your prepared tooth. It’s permanent and no return trip is necessary. All of this takes place in once appointment!
